At Clarity, we believe in celebrating those who go above and beyond.

This October, our Shining Star Award 2024 winners were treated to a well-deserved incentive trip to Toronto, Canada. This trip was a stunning way to honour their achievements.

The Shining Star Awards 2024, announced during our company conference in March earlier this year, celebrated individuals and teams who embody our values and drive our success. Among the winners were:

  • Amy Lowcock
  • Chris Lawn
  • Danielle Kavanagh
  • Jo Meredith
  • Joshua Lowe
  • Lindsay James
  • Michaela Mason
  • Rebecca Millar
  • ClarityGo Team
  • Evolvi Team
  • Implementation Team
  • Southampton Team

We caught up with one of the winners, Chris Lawn, who took us through his memory of the trip, what it means to be rewarded and how the experience helped forge strong new relationships across our business.

A world-class experience

The trip began with a warm welcome from hosts Steve Riley, our Executive Director – Operations and former Canada resident, along with Kevin Rogers from Air Canada and Jane Beeley from United Airlines, valuable partners of Clarity. From the moment the group touched down in Toronto, it was clear this was going to be more than just a sightseeing adventure, it was a curated experience designed to inspire awe and forge connections.

Highlights of the itinerary included a luxurious stay at the Intercontinental Toronto Centre, a breathtaking lunch at the revolving 360 Restaurant atop the iconic CN Tower and a full-day excursion to Niagara Falls, featuring a thrilling Hornblower Cruise. Chris described the falls as “a humbling experience” and a reminder of “how small and insignificant we are compared to the natural wonders of the world.”

The group also explored lesser-known gems; Steve Riley brought local expertise to the table. From Toronto’s vibrant residential streets decorated for Halloween to the serene islands on Lake Ontario, attendees were treated to a perfect balance of must-see landmarks and hidden treasures.

Building bridges across teams

The trip wasn’t just about the incredible destinations, it was a chance for colleagues from across Clarity to connect on a deeper level. Chris highlighted how the shared experiences fast-tracked relationships and enriched collaborations: “This trip brought us together in a way that no meeting room ever could. It reminded us that, at the core, we’re all part of the same team with shared stories and goals.”

The diversity of the group, representing departments from HR and finance to operations and partner management, underscored the breadth of talent across the combined businesses. Attendees bonded over their shared passion for travel and exchanged stories that not only strengthened personal connections but also enhanced professional understanding.

Recognition that matters

For Chris, the trip was more than a reward; it was a powerful validation of his efforts to elevate his team and foster a culture of development and care. He reflected on the significance of being nominated, stating: “Being recognised like this isn’t just about the work you do, it’s about how you do it. The trip gave me a boost and reminded me of the value of personal connections and the impact we all have on each other.”

Chris also shared a message of encouragement for others:

“Don’t underestimate the power of nominating a colleague. Sometimes people don’t realise the incredible impact they have on those around them. Recognition like this can mean so much and trips like these are proof of what’s possible when great work is acknowledged.”

What’s next?

As the extraordinary people of two businesses unite under a new Clarity brand, moments like this incentive trip demonstrate the value of investing in people. These shared experiences not only reward exceptional contributions but also pave the way for stronger, more collaborative teams.

Chris summed it up perfectly: “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, not just because of the destination, but because of the people. These trips are about more than just travel, they’re about creating memories, building relationships and showing gratitude for the incredible work we all do together.”

Celebrating our Shining Stars

The Shining Star Awards represent the very best of Clarity and trips like this demonstrate the incredible value of recognising those who make a difference. Here’s to continuing to celebrate our stars and inspiring everyone to reach new heights.
