Recruitment: An August to remember for Clarity

August is widely considered in the business travel industry to be a quieter month for recruitment.

But for Clarity Business Travel – as well as Elegant Resorts and If Only – last month really did buck the trend.

Rachel Bamford, Group Head of Talent Acquisition for all the brands, said: “Traditionally, August is seen as a quieter month for job applications, but this year, it broke all norms. 

“I received an influx of applications that not only defied expectations but also made August our standout month for recruitment so far in 2023.

“It’s amazing to see that our dedication and the company’s reputation are drawing such talent. It’s truly a testament to the strength and allure of our brand and the passion of our employees.”

Barbara Kolosinska, Managing Director at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “August is always one of the slowest months of the year for recruitment – with holidays and late summer childcare taking priority for both job seekers and decision makers. 

“Despite that, August was a much busier month for new vacancies than we have seen in recent years. Lots of exciting roles have newly been made available and this should lead to an increase in job placements in the next couple of months. 

“Also, travel salaries have now been steadily rising for around two years and we’re continuing to see monthly increases as companies battle for the best candidates in the market.”
