A research-intensive University, and a founding member of the prestigious Russell Group. From the outset, the University of Southampton, wanted an all-encompassing dialogue around the travel contract, not only with procurement and the department heads but also with the key bookers and travellers.
To accommodate this, we created Travel User Groups.
Initiatives that have been introduced thanks to the work of the Travel User Group include:
Monthly top tips guides on buying behaviours, distributed via email and on the University’s intranet
Monthly Booker & Traveller presentations at various locations around the Campus.
A full review of the travel policy from both a finance/procurement viewpoint and also that of those who are travelling
Travel User Groups.
We know that each traveller is passionate about their travel needs, and also that each will have a unique and varying degree of expectation.
To meet these needs, we engage with a wide cross-section of travellers and bookers, to ensure that we take all needs into account and that we have a true representation and understanding of the travel program.
